Expedition (formerly Higher Ground) is a discussion group for people who want to grapple with tough questions regarding Christianity and the Bible. Through close fellowship with peers and religious leaders from the area, Expedition seeks to help students better understand the religious beliefs of themselves and others. The cornerstone belief of Expedition is that community and understanding pave the way on “The Quest for Common Ground.”
-Official Statement of Expedition
Expedition is not your average Bible study. In fact, it’s unlike anything else in Spiritual Life. The goal of Expedition is to create a space where you can ask hard questions. Everyone has doubts, fears, questions, curiosities, and conundrums that they deal with every single day. This is the group that tackles those head on. If you have hard questions, or just want to dig deeper into your faith, this is the group for you.
Expedition focuses on intense academic and theological discussions presented from an array of perspectives. Every other week, a guest speaker from the community comes to speak about the stance of his/her religious tradition on a particular issue. So far, we’ve covered topics such as Grace, God in the Old and New Testaments, and Science and Faith. Be sure to join us for some amazing discussion at our next meeting!
